Google adds favorite sports teams and movies to Google Now

Summary:Jelly Bean is on the Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus smartphone and Google keeps improving the experience with new enhancements to Google Now.

Google adds favorite sports teams and movies to Google Now for Jelly Bean users

I have Android Jelly Bean on both my GSM Galaxy Nexus and Verizon Galaxy Nexus devices and just noticed an update to Google Search appeared in the Google Play Store. This update adds a few things for Jelly Bean users, in particular more control over your favorite sports teams and movie time support. You can check out information on the update from Google on Google+.

As I previously detailed in my hands-on with Jelly Bean the Google Now functionality is my favorite part of this Android OS. This update improves on that experience, especially for someone like me who is closely following his favorite sports teams as playoffs get closer and the NFL season kicks off. Our family also LOVES going to the movies and this added functionality means I won't have to jump over to an app like Flixster to check movie times.

In addition to more sports control and movies, you can also turn on public alerts and receive emergency messages for storm warnings, earthquakes, or volcanos (I live in a state with an active mountain).
