Google beefs up cloud platform support

Summary:Google said the support options---priced from free to $400 a month to personalized service for an undisclosed amount---covers App Engine, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, BigQuery and the rest of the portfolio.

Google Cloud Platform, its rival to Amazon Web Services, has beefed up its support packages for customers needing phone and access to an account manager.

In a blog post, Google said the support options---priced from free to $400 a month to personalized service for an undisclosed amount---covers App Engine, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, BigQuery and the rest of the portfolio.

Google's cloud support packages break down to a free version (bronze) for online help to a silver package for $150 a month to a gold edition that gives you 24x7 phone support, consultation and best practices.

A platinum package offers personalized support and an account manager for an undisclosed price.
