Google yesterday acquired email search startup reMail. This alone is only mildly interesting, but then they promptly killed the company's iPhone app, which speaks volumes.

reMail founder Gabor Cselle blogged about the acquisition:

Looks like reMail is just another casualty in the Apple-Google cold war that I've written about here ad naseum. Hopefully Apple will finally give us email body search in iPhone 4.0.
