Google has updated its Drive mobile apps for iOS and Android, which could help out users who want to use the cloud storage service for getting work done while on-the-go.

The bulk of today's updates are geared toward iOS devices as Google continues to build up support for the top two leading mobile operating systems.

Specifically, iPhone and iPad users can now create and edit Google documents directly in the Drive app. Furthermore, these users can see others' edits in real-time.

Other iOS-centric updates are focused on Google presentations, which now includes speaker notes, full-screen mode and the ability to swipe between slides. Users can also look for more functionality already available in the desktop version, such as creating and managing new folders, along with direct uploads from mobile devices.

Android users will also see all of the aforementioned presentation functionality as well as the option to add comments, reply to existing comments and view tables in Google documents.

Google is planning to roll out some more work-friendly features for Google Drive soon. Although no launch dates have been revealed, a preview of those new tools include native editing and real-time collaboration for Google spreadsheets.

The updated Android and iOS versions of Google Drive are available to download for free now.
