Google killed the radio... ads

Google's bread and butter is advertising -- it's what still makes them most of their money. Having so many eggs in one basket seems foolish, but so far it's been working well for them.

Google's bread and butter is advertising -- it's what still makes them most of their money. Having so many eggs in one basket seems foolish, but so far it's been working well for them.

Their most profitable advertising medium is online CPC advertisements which both advertisers and publishers seem to love. Google has also ventured out into print, radio and television advertising without nearly the success of their online counterpart.

Today, Google decided to pull the plug on radio advertising, just has it had done in the recent past with their print ads. I would have thought, regardless of maybe lower than expected revenue, that Google would stick to their guns when it comes to all forms of advertising.

An interesting fact, though, is that Google still plans to continue their Television advertising business. I've said in the past that the TV space for Google is an exciting one, with lots of room for innovation.

What do you think of Google's exit in the radio ad space? Let's hear what you think in the Talk Back!
