Google has launched a tool which enables users to perform search by handwriting Hindi language on their device screens.
According to Infotech Lead India on Wednesday, the beta version of the tool aims to make the Internet search simple in Hindi. The handwriting enables you to search by just writing letters with your finger or stylus anywhere on your device's screen. There is no keyboard which covers half of the screen and no need for typing.
This addresses the more than 300 million Indian users on the Internet and comes a bid to make Internet searching easier for them, the search giant noted.
To use the function, users can go to google.com on their mobile browsers, tap on "Settings" at the bottom of the screen, go to Search Settings and enable "Handwrite", change the language in Google products to Hindi and add "Hindi" as a Language of Search Results.
Once the feature is enabled, the Handwrite icon at the bottom right corner of the screen can be tapped to activate the Handwrite mode. After writing a few letters, the autocomplete options appear below the search box.
Google is among some IT companies who have launched localized products for India. Just on Tuesday,after more than a year's work by a group of 10 volunteers.
