Google really wants you to know that the Nexus S is free today

Summary:As a quick look at the Google homepage shows, Google is really throwing its massive weight behind its one-day free Nexus S deal

If you are one of the poor saps that paid full price (or anything, really) for a Nexus S recently, Google sure does seem like it wants to rub it in your face.

Google is really pushing its one-day deal with Best Buy to offer the Nexus S for free, going as far as to advertise the offer on the Google homepage. Of course, as with all smartphone deals nowadays "free" isn't really free: The Nexus S will only cost you zero dollars if you add a two-year contract to it. So it's only mostly free. Even so, considering how much of a wonder the Nexus S is, you could certainly do worse.
