Google Tags: Now free for 30 days

If you own a local business, and you are looking to gain a bit of an edge over your competition, Google says the answer is Google Tags. Last month they launched this service, but likely due to a tepid response, Google is offering business owners 30 days free.

What does it give you? Well, when someone searches for anything relevant to your business -- either in their browser at home, or on the go, your listing in Google Maps will be "Tagged". Tagged items are visually different from the rest, and usually offer up deals or coupons.

Once the trial period of 30 days is over (on July 23rd), you will be charged $25 a month if you don't cancel. If you decide to give this a shot, I'd be interested to know if it made a difference for your business.
