Google has announced two new services for Android handsets that allow users to control their phones with voice commands and send links and other information from the Chrome browser directly to their device.

Launched on Thursday, the Voice Actions for Android app builds on the functionality of the existing Google Voice Search and is available to download from the Android Market. The app enables the user to quickly search the handset or perform other common tasks such as call contacts, send texts and email, listen to music or browse the web by issuing voice commands.

It also integrates with Google Maps, allowing users to navigate or get directions to local businesses and other locations.
