Google Video takes a page from YouTube

Thanks to Haochi at Google Blogoscoped for this tip -- Google is testing a new page layout on video pages that seems to make better use of space.  Most people who see it immediately recognize that it is more YouTube-ish than the previous full-screen layout.

Personally, I like this format much better than the original -- even if the video is smaller, comments are easier to read (and sometimes those are just as entertaining as the video itself).

Using a small piece of javascript allows you to try the new layout for yourself.  When viewing any video, paste this script into your address bar and hit enter.

 javascript:setCookie('np','old');window.location.reload();

When it is finished loading, you will notice a new link in the top right corner that asks if you want to see the new layout.  Click on this link, and you are ready to try it out.  What do you think?
