The Nexus 7 Android tablet, which was until now only available in the US, UK, Australia and Canada, has begun rolling out to non-English-speaking countries.
On Monday available on the Google Play store in Germany, France and Spain. The tablet went on sale in the English-speaking countries in July.became
However, certain types of Play Store content, such as magazines and music, are still only available in the US. The Nexus 7, which is made by Asus, is largely intended as a portal to this type of content, as is the case with Amazon's rival tablet, the Kindle Fire.
The Nexus 7, which is notably well-specified for its price, costs €199 (£158) for the 8GB version and €249 (£198) for the 16GB version in the EU countries.
That puts the euro pricing for the tablet at roughly the same level as its UK pricing. In the US, the device costs $199 (£126) or $249 (£158), depending on the chosen capacity.
