A great story here of a young woman who had worked years on her Master's Thesis only to have a criminal steal the thumbdrive it was on. It was her only copy. Ouch.

But the story is so great because by the time she went to cancel the credit cards that had also been stolen the crook had already used them to make purchases. She drove to the store he was at, found a likely looking dumpster, and dove in. She found her thumb drive!
