Over at Tom's Networking, editor Tim Higgins has the scoop about what sure seems to be a forthcoming Linksys Skype handset.

"Despite the rumors about Skype being purchased or done in by competitors, it appears that Linksys thinks Skype will be around for at least a little while longer," Tim writes.

Tim says he's used information from the FCC website, to assemble a quick look at the upcoming CIT200 Cordless Internet Telephony Kit (of which Linksys is the phone).

He's seen the key FCC doc, and now you can, too.

Tim believes the CIT200 will be OEM'd from Ascalade Technologies, a Richmond, Canada-based design house specializing in DECT, WDCT, and VOIP technology.

He predicts the phone will sell for around $100, but doesn't wish to hazard a guess on when it will actually hit the market.

Would you pay $100 for a Linksys Skype phone? TalkBack and let us know!
