Heroku debuts partner directory for connecting enterprise app developers

Summary:Heroku's new platform directory is filled with more than 100 vetted partners for providing PaaS and enterprise app development advice.

Heroku has introduced its own partner platform and directory, which is designed to boost the innovation and development of enterprise apps.

Essentially, the directory is supposed to connect Heroku customers so that they can find the best development partners as well as Platform-as-a-service expertise. More than 100 Heroku partners are currently listed in the directory.

Heroku already has more than two million apps hosted on its PaaS cloud platform. This directory is also designed to be complementary to parent company Salesforce.com's Appexchange business app marketplace.

The idea with this platform is to give that pool a significant boost as Heroku customers meet in the partner directory and collaborate on new projects while also speeding up time-to-market turnaround rates.

It's important to note that not just any customer is listed as Heroku asserts that partners "are vetted through a strict process ensuring that Heroku customers are connected with the best developers in the world."

Some of the industry partners already taking advantage of the service include Accenture, Appirio, ELC, and Pivotal Labs -- all of which will be presenting their cloud strategies at Dreamforce '12 in San Francisco next week.
