According to the report 30.5% of US households with PCs want to centrally connect their computers to printers and televisions. This research confirms what many industry watchers have been saying: home networking is the next big thing.

The study - Home Networking 101 - points to 3 primary factors: the number of digital consumer devices such as DVD's has increased dramatically, coupled with a growing number of homes with high-speed data access. Finally, some 26.8 million US households do some or all of their work at home.

All these factors are driving the need for home networks, according to the report.
