How M2M and Big Data will combine to produce everyday benefits

Summary:Ford's Michael Cavaretta explains how machine-to-machine communications and the Internet of Things will combine with Big Data to provide some big benefits for business.

While Big Data has evolved into one of 2012's most buzz-worthy topics, one of the next big buzz topics -- machine-to-machine (M2M) communications or "the Internet of Things" -- is actually going to make Big Data even more powerful.  

In this video clip, Michael Cavaretta, technical leader of predictive analytics and data mining at Ford, provides an example of how the combination of M2M and Big Data could produce excellent everyday benefits in the not-too-distant future.
