No, the absolute nightmare of beer regulation is not happening. But the EPA is threatening to make a decision about alcohol that goes into American gasoline. To nobody's surprise the ethanol folks want their product to become a mandated 15% of the nation's "gasoline" supply. The last day for public comment: Monday, July 20, 2009. WEAK ECONOMY HURTING BIOFUEL BIZ Unlike Goldman Sachs, the biofuel and ethanol folks are not seeing big profits during this economic slump. Corn prices are down but so is the demand for auto fuel and thuse the demand for ethanol. Current federal mandates are pushing this year's ethanol productrion well above last year's. In the U.S.most ethanol is made from corn. That is politically popular in many Midwestern states.
