How things have changed

We all know that IT has pervaded our work and social lives, and the times have changed. But I don't remember having felt any abrupt changes; in fact, I think we gradually eased into today's "information age".

We all know that IT has pervaded our work and social lives, and the times have changed. But I don't remember having felt any abrupt changes; in fact, I think we gradually eased into today's "information age".

But some months ago, I felt this "change" for the first time whilst browsing one of my five-year-old niece's school books. Amidst the pages of illustrations of animals and fruits, was an illustration of a computer system, complete with a keyboard, a monitor and a mouse. It even had the words "central processing unit" and a brief explanation of what a CPU does.

Gosh, I was stunned. Indeed, these are different times. If memory serves me right, I was introduced to IT when I was 18 and not five years old! Have you noticed or felt this technology change in your family life?
