HP TouchPad available for pre-order, retail partners revealed

Summary:The TouchPad is now available for pre-order on the HP web site, which confirms details about the company's first webOS tablet. Retail outlets selling the tablet show a big presence for the webOS tablet at launch.

HP has taken its time to get the TouchPad to market after hosting a huge press event back in February. Hopefully the company has taken the time to get the tablet ready as it has a big task ahead to take on the iPad and all of the Android tablets coming to market. The TouchPad is now available for pre-order on the HP web site, which confirms details about the company's first webOS tablet.

As expected the TouchPad is available with Wi-Fi only in two configurations. The 16GB model is $499 and the 32GB version is $599 which puts it on a price level with the iPad. Anxious customers can order the TouchPad directly from HP or from HP's retail partners revealed in the image below. Partners include all of the expected players, including budget shops Sams and Costco. It is clear HP is not fooling around with the retail launch of the TouchPad tablet. No expected shipping date is given by HP for pre-orders.
