HP updating security intelligence, risk management platforms

Summary:The HP Security Intelligence and Risk Management (SIRM) platform includes a solution for C-level executives that offers them a heat-map prioritized view of risks across the enterprise.

Hewlett-Packard is rolling out a new platform of integrated security solutions designed to deliver more visibility into enterprise business risk across traditional, mobile and cloud environments.

The HP Security Intelligence and Risk Management (SIRM) platform is comprised of several products, but there are two major ones to highlight.

First, there's the HP EnterpriseView solution, which is touted to offer executives with a dashboard and heat-map prioritized view of risks across the enterprise. This gives C-level executives a better and more comprehensive look at IT security and risks across a company and could have an impact on making better business decisions.

Second is the HP Application Security Monitor (AppSM). This one is targeted more at IT managers, giving them more visibility into application security threats -- especially those pertaining to Java/.Net applications. The goals here are to help reduce deployment times and save money on custom programming.

HP is also tying in a few solutions for the cloud, including the HP Cloud Connections Partner Program to offer a centralized view about user activity within SaaS environments, and the HP Compliance Stack to help customers meet compliance requirements for physical, virtual and cloud environments.

Both lined up to be "available soon," HP EnterpriseView pricing starts at $250,000, while the HP Application Security Monitor will start retailing for $5,000 per application server.
