HPE hopes to catch SaaS wave with Verity e-discovery suite

The e-discovery and content management space has been slow to adopt software as a service. HPE is hoping to change that reality.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise launched a suite revolving around its Verity e-discovery and archiving software. The Verity suite will be available on HPE Helion and Amazon Web Services with an on-premise option coming later.

The Verity suite is an integrated set of tools designed to manage data for analytics, legal and regulatory uses. HPE said Verity revolves around one data source approach with a unified index and user experience as well as an analytics engine from HPE Vertica. The idea is that compliance, legal, risk management and IT pros can all work from the same dashboard.

HPE added that information management and governance has been a market that hasn't moved toward software as a service as quickly as other industries due to concerns about data sovereignty. Verity will ultimately run on a bevy of public clouds as well as managed service providers.

According to HPE, the first installment of Verity will land with an information archiving module that's aimed at the midmarket. HPE said it has previewed Verity Information Archiving in a series of enterprises with more modules rolling out later in 2016.
