HP announced this morning that its Blackbird 002 gaming PC will be available in retail stores this summer. The $3,299 retail configuration includes:

  • 2.66GHz Core 2 Quad Q9450 processor
  • 4GB Corsair Dominator memory
  • 500GB 7,200 rpm hard drive
  • Dual Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT graphics cards
  • 900-watt power supply
  • Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit edition with SP1

The system will be available at Best Buy, Circuit City, J&R, and Micro Center among other stores, as well as online at Amazon.com and Newegg.com (details at www.hp.com/go/bbretail). Here's the CNET review of the Blackbird 002.
