HTC reportedly developing Android tablet with Pegatron

Given how much progress HTC has had with smartphones in the last year, it's only natural that the company would be moving on to a tablet. Who isn't these days?

According to DigiTimes, HTC has put in an order with the Taiwan-based laptop manufacturer Pegatron Technology for the purpose of developing an Android-based tablet. While not everyone is entirely supportive of the Android platform on tablet computers, this HTC slate is reported to have some interesting specs, such as:

  • Multi-touch display (1,280 × 720 resolution)
  • NVIDIA Tegra 2 platform
  • 32GB solid state drive
  • 2GB of memory
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth
  • GPS
  • Chrome Web apps
  • Access to Android Market

Who knows when this will actually land (perhaps an introduction at CES 2011?), but would you be excited to see a tablet from HTC?
