HTC makes some fantastic devices, yet never seems to get the sales its designs deserve. Maybe that will change on March 1st when they announce their next major smartphone.

Given that HTC launched the HTC One M7 and then the M8, it is natural to assume that this next device will be the M9. Rumors of the M9 (aka Hima) have been around for a few months and I am sure will continue up until the launch.

The HTC One M7 was one of my favorite smartphones ever and I look forward to this announcement with excitement. I want HTC to improve its rear camera, include some level of water resistance, continue to support microSD expansion cards, and keep the front facing speakers. However, I do not want to see some crazy resolution display.

HTC's 1080p LCD is one of the best in the industry and there is no justifiable reason to bump that up and sacrifice battery life. Higher resolution displays do little to improve the end user experience and just let manufacturers add something else to their spec sheet. I would love for HTC to buck this trend and instead focus on other parts of the device.

What do you want to see in the next HTC flagship?
