Hustle: The crowdfunded smart bag that charges your phone on the go

Summary:Mobile data fiends can carry this bag around and fully charge their phone up to four times a day.

Crowdfunding is being used more and more to jumpstart innovative products that need to find a way to market outside of the normal channels.

The Hustle bag created by an Australian start-up has caught my eye this week with its innovative solution to the ‘dead battery’ scenario we get when we are out and about for the day.

A husband and wife team have created a bag for women and a wallet for men that powers your phone. It can:

  • Power your phone all day and night up to 4 times, while you are on the go.
  • Incorporating an ultra-thin, 9mm thick 4250mAh battery with a smart battery monitor, it will alert you when it's running on empty.
  • When you get home or back to the office, place your Hustle bag on the wireless induction charge pad and it will be ready to go again when you are.
  • Hustle has also developed a USB charging port onto the Hustle charge pad to reduce the adapters and cables you require. Plug your existing USB phone charging cable into the Hustle charge pad to charge your Hustle bag and phone at once.

The range of Hustle bags and wallets are compatible with all smartphones. They have the ability to fully power your smartphone up to four times from 0 percent to 100 percent.

For women, the Hustle bag is small enough to fit inside a bigger, everyday handbag and big enough to be worn on its own as a clutch or cross-body bag.

For men, Hustle has a wallet to hold your cards, cash and travel documents — and to power your phone.

When you just need the basics, the middle section pulls out, folds in half and slips into your back pocket like an everyday wallet.

Hustle was created by husband and wife team Lisa and John Winters who were looking for a solution to their everyday problem.

As a mother, business owner and social media addict, Lisa found the battery life of her smartphone limited the productivity of her day. John’s business and investment experience and passion for new technology set the wheels in motion to develop a solution.

Indiegogo has been used as the launchpad and fundraiser for the Hustle bag. The technology is cool. It uses wireless induction-charging technology and lithium-polymer power in its power pack. It has a micro USB connection and a snap-on iPhone 4/4S and iPhone 5/lightning connector.

The bags and wallets are compatible with Apple, Samsung, Blackberry, Nokia, LG and other smartphone brands. There is also a USB port on the Hustle charge pad, so you can use your existing USB cable to charge your phone while your Hustle bag charges.

Its a really cool idea. And with a 50 percent discount on prices during the crowdfunding campaign, it's a bargain for anyone who has watched their battery life slip away before their very eyes.
