IBM adds vacuum to processors

Summary:A new vacuum technique named "Airgap" by IBM promises to make the company's processors faster and possibly more energy efficient. IBM expects the first 320-nanometer microprocessors using this new technology to appear in 2009. Here's an animated video produced by IBM to explain how the new chips will be built.
