IBM buys CSL International, adds to zEnterprise

Summary:CSL's CSL-WAVE provides monitoring and drag and drop management for z/VM and Linux on System z environments.

IBM on Tuesday acquired CSL International, an Israeli virtualization management software maker, to add to its System z lineup.

Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. CSL's software, CSL-WAVE, runs on IBM's zEnterprise system. CSL-WAVE provides monitoring and drag and drop management for z/VM and Linux on System z environments.

The zEnterprise System is designed to be a cloud building block and a mainframe to consolidate servers.

IBM said the purchase will close in the third quarter.
