IBM is India's leading laptop vendor

IBM India recorded 31.3% market share in the notebooks segment (revenues) to gain the leadership position, a clear 1% lead over its nearest competitor. According to IDC, the laptop market in India grew by 65% in 2003 compared to 2002 in revenue terms, where IBM registered a growth of 85% resulting in a market share gain of 3.7%.
