IBM expanded its partnership with SAP to deliver HANA as well as other applications on its SoftLayer cloud platform.
Specifically, IBM said it will deliver SAP HANA, the HANA One service and other applications such as Business Suite and BusinessObjects on SoftLayer. SAP has verified that the applications will run well on SoftLayer.
IBM announced the news ahead of SAP's Sapphire conference in Orlando.
The move to put SAP applications on SoftLayer is designed to complement IBM's cloud managed services. With IBM's cloud managed services and SoftLayer, Big Blue will have 40 data centers available to run SAP apps.
For IBM, the combination of SoftLayer and cloud managed services is designed to better target customers with hybrid infrastructure as well as speed up development, testing and deployment of SAP apps.
IBM also said that it has partnered with Virtustream to help move SAP workloads to SoftLayer.
