Online entertainment firm iCast has filed a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission over America Online Inc.’s (aol) refusal to open up its Instant Messenger application. The FCC is currently reviewing AOL’s proposed merger with cable and publishing giant Time Warner Inc. iCast officials said Tuesday that allowing the merger would "only increase its ability to dominate and restrict consumers’ freedom of choice in instant messaging." -– Margaret Kane, ZDNet News
