IDC said Microsoft wouldn't need to worry about adopting a Windows version of the open source operating system until 2007 because Linux won't be making a significant dent in Windows sales for a few more years. IDC said Linux accounted for 11% of the market for servers in 2003, while Windows represented 34% of the market.
