iMac beats out Presario in Q4 sales

Apple Computer Inc.'s iMac was the top seller in US retail and mail order channels during the fourth quarter, research firm PC Data. PC Data said iMac accounted for 6.2 percent of all unit sales during the quarter. Compaq Computer Corp.'s Presario line had three PCs in the top five for the quarter. Two Compaq systems, the 350 MHz Pentium II-based 5170 and the 350-MHZ AMD K6-based 5150 held the top two spots for the month of December.
