Mid-tier Indian outsourcer Hexaware will hire 150 American engineers to populate its third onshore delivery centre in the United States.

The BPO and consulting services firm opened its latest facility at Frisco, near Dallas, which will house local fresh graduates and experienced professionals, the company announced in a statement on Monday.

It has already secured the two anchor customers at the Texas GDC, which will primarily service American companies in the banking and financial services industry (BFSI).

Chairman Atul Nishar said the company would build more GDCs across America, however he did not specify the size or timeframe for the expansion. This is in addition to American clients from three nearshore delivery centers in Saltillo, Mexico.

Hexaware CEO and vice chairman P. R. Chandrasekar said Dallas, as one of the fastest growing hubs for the high tech industry, provided access to a great pool of talent.

"With the new center in place, we would continue investing in implementing learning and development programs under the aegis of Hexavarsity, focus on institutionalizing the quality processes here and ensure seamless delivery across our network of GDCs," Chandrasekar said.

According to financial filings for the three months ending March 31, the company booked a profit after tax of US$14.6 million (793 million rupees)--almost 20 percent higher than the preceding quarter. In Q1 2013 it sold US$94 million of services. It also added 11 new customers, about half of which were in America.

The company said the BFSI revenue increased by 28 percent in 2012. It employed 8,670 staff at the end of March 2013.
