Intel to release 430TX Pentium chipset next Tuesday
Intel will next Tuesday take the wrappers off a new chipset for desktop and mobile PCs it claims optimises the power of MMX processors and is thrifty on power demands, according to sources.
The 430TX sports a range of new features including Dynamic Power Management Architecture enabling systems to sip 75 per cent less power than usual. It also supports Universal Serial Bus, the Ultra DMA 33Mb/sec IDE interface for fast disk transfers, synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) and Concurrent PCI which Intel claims cuts CPU latency to smooth video and create shaper audio playback.
