Intel's quad-core gets a lot cheaper

Looks like Intel's quad-core mobile processor range now extends into the cheapish space.According to a pricelist that came out a couple of days ago, the new Q9000 processor will cost you $348 (£240), which is a darn sight less expensive than the QX9300 ($1,038) or the Q9100 ($851).

Looks like Intel's quad-core mobile processor range now extends into the cheapish space.

According to a pricelist that came out a couple of days ago, the new Q9000 processor will cost you $348 (£240), which is a darn sight less expensive than the QX9300 ($1,038) or the Q9100 ($851). Less cache memory in the new one, but hey, it's a big step forward for quad-core goodness.

Acer is first off the blocks with the Q9000, incorporating the processor into its Aspire 8930G-7665 gaming rig.
