At today's iPad 2 event, Apple announced that iOS 4.3 would be available for download March 11th. Here's a quick look at what's new in this update.

AirPlay enhancements

AirPlay wireless technology allows users to stream content (music, movies, and photos) from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your HDTV via Apple TV.1 In addition to music, movies, and photos, AirPlay now streams video from your Photos app.

Safari performance enhancement

Nitro JavaScript engine powering Safari runs JavaScript up to twice as fast as in iOS 4.2.

iTunes Home Sharing

Now you can play your entire iTunes library (music, movies, TV show, podcast or audiobook) from anywhere in the house. If it's on your Mac or PC, you can play it on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch over a shared Wi-Fi network.

iPad side switch

Customize the switch on the side of your iPad to lock the screen rotation or mute the volume.

Personal Hotspot (iPhone 4)

Personal Hotspot allows you to share your cellular data connection with your Mac, PC, iPad, or other Wi-Fi-capable device. You can share your connection with up to five devices at once over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB - with up to three of those connections using Wi-Fi. Required a suitable tethering plan.
