TidBITS, an online newsletter and website for Apple-related news, tested various peripherals and confirmed that using the kit's USB dongle will allow the iPad to accept USB headsets and low-power USB keyboards. Of course, according to a short support article on Apple's website, "Apple does not recommend or support using the iPad Camera Connector with devices other than cameras."
