Preorders for the iPhone 7 are to start on October 14 in South Korea, while pricing for Cupertino's latest is yet to be announced.

Official sales will begin on October 21, and the phones will compete with Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 -- which resumed sales in its home country on October after the global recall -- and LG's V20, which hit shelves on September 29.

Apple's wireless earphones, Airpod, will be launched at the end of the month.

Earlier, local telco officials said sales could begin as early as October 14.

The phones -- iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus -- will come in 32GB, 128GB, and 258GB models. Silver, gold, rosegold, black and jetblack colors are available, but the jetblack model won't be available in 32GB.

Data from Localytics suggested that demand for the iPhone 7s is not as great as its predecessor, the iPhone 6.

In contrast, South Korean analysts have predicted it will hit up to 100 million within the year, thanks to rival Samsung's recall.

Despite the fallback from the recall, the Note 7s are selling well in South Korea, and will be the iPhone's biggest competitor.
