Personal computer shipments in Japan will grow 7.6% in 2004 as consumers and corporates replace aging PCs with new models, but the market's nominal value will decrease, Gartner Dataquest forecast. The size of the Japanese PC market will fall 1.6% on a yen basis in 2004 because of demand for low-cost models being offered by Dell and other non-Japanese vendors, the research group said.
