Juniper bolsters CDN efforts with BitGravity pact

Juniper acquired the service management layer of BitGravity's CDN technology. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Juniper Networks on Monday acquired rights to technology from Tata Communications' BitGravity unit to bolster its content delivery network tools.

Specifically, Juniper acquired the service management layer of BitGravity's CDN technology. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

The networking company said that it would integrate BitGravity's technology with its Juniper Media Flow Solution product line. Juniper's Media Flow gear targets online media and CDNs to deliver content efficiently and quickly.

According to Juniper, it will deliver an integrated BitGravity technology later in 2012. Juniper and BitGravity have already been partners. Tata will remain in the content delivery business and focus on delivering services.
