Turns out that Juniper Networks is one of the anchor tenants in IBM's new "greenest" data center in North America, which it opened last month in Boulder.

The networking powerhouse has signed a five-year data center hosting agreement under which IBM will run its worldwide ERP and CRM applications. The software will run on IBM's latest System p servers, BladeCenter technology and enterprise storage. Juniper's CIO, Michele Goins, said one element in the decision to choose IBM was its environmentally friendly solution for more scale.

Actually, apparently, Juniper has been quietly painting itself greener for many, many months. It just hasn't been as loud as some of its competitors. Here's a press release that gives you a better sense of what the company is doing and what may be possible for your own organization.
