Keyword searching is going wireless

Forget URLS... Keywords could be the way forward for mobile devices
Written by Ben Charny, Contributor

VoiceStream Wireless announced Thursday morning it will offer its 2.6 million subscribers a way to just type a company or brand name into a wireless Internet-enabled device to access a Web site, instead of having to enter a URL.

The company is the first to use a wireless keyword search technology developed by RealNames, both companies said in a prepared statement. The service should be available for all VoiceStream users by the end of this year.
