LaCie debuts USB 3.0 driver for Mac desktops and laptops
LaCie has developed what many Mac computer owners have probably been dreaming about: a USB 3.0 driver for Mac OS.
But achieving transfer speeds up to 220MB/s will take more than just installing the driver to a Mac OS desktop or laptop. Naturally, LaCie has tied in some of its products. Users will have to install LaCie's USB 3.0 expansion cards. Options consist of the LaCie USB 3.0 PCI Express Card and LaCie USB 3.0 ExpressCard/34.
Before you buy the card (or even if you conveniently already have one installed), make sure to check if your computer is compatible with all of this first. Then download the driver, and voila! Your Mac just got a whole lot faster.
