Only 9 US retailers boasted yearly online sales of $1 bln and above, Internet Retailer says. Amazon continues as the Internet's largest retailer with 2004 sales of $6.9 bln, up 31% from $5.2 bln in 2003. Amazon has more than 44 mln active customers and offers more than 10 mln SKUs. #2 Dell finished 2004 with Web sales of $3.2 bln; #3 Office Depot had 2004 web sales of $3.1 bln; #4 Staples had 2004 web sales of $3 bln; #5 HPDirect, a unit of Hewlett-Packard had 2004 estimated web sales of $2.7 bln; #6 Sears, Roebuck and Co. had 2004 estimated web sales of $1.7 bln; #7 SonyStyle.com, a unit of Sony had 2004 estimated web sales of $1.6 bln; #8 CDW had 2004 web sales of $1.5 bln; and #9 Newegg.com had 2004 web sales of $1 bln.
