LCD driver prices to go up 10% in Q2 2004

In line with NEC's plan to raise prices for LCD driver ICs by 10% in Q2, Taiwan-based LCD driver IC vendors are planning a price hike to reflect the rising production costs and tight capacity. The sources estimate prices will grow by 5-8% in Taiwan.

In line with NEC's plan to raise prices for LCD driver ICs by 10% in Q2, Taiwan-based LCD driver IC vendors are planning a price hike to reflect the rising production costs and tight capacity. The sources estimate prices will grow by 5-8% in Taiwan. The LCD driver IC vendors earlier were unable to raise their prices due to panel makers' strong bargaining power. NEC's plan will improve chances of a price rise.
