Lenovo introduces 14" ThinkPad SL410, 15.6" SL510 with Windows 7

Lenovo on Wednesday announced its ThinkPad SL410 and SL510 laptops, preloaded with Windows 7 and intended for small and medium business use.

The new machines sport 14-inch and 15.6-inch 16:9 HD LED-backlit displays, respectively, as well as Intel Core 2 Duo processors (dual-core Celeron also available), up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, either 500GB (5,400 RPM) or 320GB (7,200 RPM) storage, 3G WWAN, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI and VGA output, multitouch trackpads and optional Bluetooth.

The systems also come with business-friendly features expected from the company: TrackPoint and UltraNav Touchpad with multitouch; a digital microphone and mic mute button on keyboard for VoIP conferencing; an integrated 2 megapixel camera for videoconferencing (some models), an integrated fingerprint reader and your choice of 4, 6 or 9-cell Li-ion battery.

The 14-inch SL410 tips the scales at 5.11 lbs. with 6-cell battery; while the 15.6-inch SL510 comes in at 5.64 lbs.

The systems are available now and start at $529. (At the time of publication, Lenovo's site was not live with the new systems.)
