Lenovo, ZTE in Chinese top 10 for CSR

Summary:The two technology firms are ranked No. 2 and No. 10 respectively for top corporate social responsibility performers among Chinese companies, according to Fortune China.

Among Chinese companies, Lenovo and ZTE are in the Top 10 ranking of China's top corporate social responsibility (CSR) performers while Sony, Intel and Samsung are the top 3 CSR performers for foreign companies in China.

The Fortune China CSR Ranking 2012 report, published by Fortune China and InnoCSR on Tuesday, said Lenovo was at No. 2, a rise from No. 3 in 2011. while ZTE was at No. 10, dropping from No. 2 the previous year.

The No. 1 Chinese company for CSR was shipping company China Cosco. The rest of the top 10 was dominated by companies in the raw materials, construction materials and petroleum and natural gas industries.

However, the ranking of CSR efforts by foreign players in China was dominated by tech companies. Sony, Intel and Samsung were in the top 3 ranks for CSR efforts. Hitachi was at No. 6, Dell was at No. 7 while Hewlett-Packard was at No. 8.
