Lenovo's 23-inch tablet this year? Company says no way

Summary:Lenovo: "As you know, it is usually not Lenovo's practice to talk about unannounced products, but in this case I will tell you that we have no plans to introduce a 23-inch tablet."

Reports of a 23-inch tablet coming from Lenovo in 2011 are incorrect, the company said.

According to Tech Radar, Lenovo was working on a 23-inch tablet for home use. The kicker was that this massive tablet would launch this year. Needless to say Tech Radar's report was picked up in multiple places.

Tech Radar quoted William Cai, senior specialist in marketing at Lenovo, as saying a 23-inch tablet that could be used on tablets and as an all-in-one PC could be quite useful.

I pinged Lenovo for an accuracy check. After all, I was wondering if this tablet would be running Microsoft's Surface, large-screen Android or some other software concoction.

Ray Gorman, executive director of Lenovo communications, said:

"As you know, it is usually not Lenovo's practice to talk about unannounced products, but in this case I will tell you that we have no plans to introduce a 23-inch tablet."

Translation: Cai was talking out of school and/or dreaming.
