Linux Expo: Hummingbird signs deal with Red Hat and Caldera

Strategic alliances announced

Enterprise software firm, Hummingbird Communications announced Tuesday a strategic alliance with both Red Hat and Caldera to package its cross-platform applications with the companies' Linux distributions.

Sources at Hummingbird also confirmed it is on the verge of signing a similar deal with another big name in commercial Linux distribution, SuSE.

Hummingbird software enables seamless communication between Linux, Unix and Windows machines over a network. The new deal will give Caldera and Red Hat Linux users access to popular Hummingbird applications such as Exceed, HostExplorer, NFS Maestro Server, NFS Maestro Client, NFS Maestro Gateway and Maestro Solo.
