I've been a QuickBooks for Mac user for years and the 2013 version, which I've testing since Friday, adds some nice features.
QuickBooks 2013 for Mac's new features are designed to help users get started quickly, get records organized, and to help simplify common tasks. For example, the new version allows you to import contacts from Address Book and add items (that you buy or sell often) from a spreadsheet.
It also includes a new user experience with video tutorials, tips, and other help to get you up-and-running quickly. Video tutorials are available within the application under Help (which links to Intuit's QuickBooks for Mac portal, Little Square) and on the company's YouTube channel.
A huge new feature for me is QuickBooks 2013 for Mac's support for file attachments. It allows you to attach important files (like receipts, estimates and other porject documents) to contacts, jobs and more to keep your projects organized.
But probably the biggest new feature in QuickBooks 2013 for Mac is support for the new (and Freshbooks-like) Intuit Payment Network which allows you to have customers pay their invoices online. Just add a payment URL to your invoice (below) and customers can pay with their bank account for 50 cents per transaction or by credit card (for a 3.25 percent fee). When they pay, QuickBooks 2013 automatically marks the payment as received.
QuickBooks 2013 for Mac costs $249 and will be available for purchase online on September 24, 2012 and beginning October 7, 2012 at major retailers like Apple, Amazon, Best Buy and Staples.
